Kronos (1957)

Dr. Leslie Gaskell is leading a team of scientists who investigate and discover an asteroid which felt in the ocean.
During their examination in Mexico, Leslie's colleague John Emory is being possessed by an alien form who controls his mind.
This alien controls the giant robot machine who appears in the sea and starts destroying everything in order to find new power sources.
After the failure of the army to eliminate it, the robot affects more and more power from the stolen energy and become bigger and bigger.
The dialogue, littered with quasi-scientific jargon, flows at near poetic tempo and the acting is good.
This movie reflects the cold war tensions of the fifties and captures the history of that time period on film.
If you love black and white sci fi gems this is a must!
