Phil Mulloy’s witty exercise in the power of suggestion uses rudimentary
animated drawings of chairs to diagram a Kinsey Report's worth of
sexual behaviors. Without recourse to narrative or human identification,
the film’s tableaux nonetheless plunge the depths of desire. By turns
desperately sad and savagely funny, the fundamental innocence of
Mulloy’s illustrations boomerangs back on the viewer’s imagination.
